With wedding planning there are always challenges you have to face - calming anxious brides, implementing back up rain plans, navigating divorced parents, or making sure "that groomsman" doesn't get too drunk (we all have one). This year has been full of challenges in particular, and it made me think back to this wedding at Island Farm a couple years back.
Island Farm is a GORGEOUS private estate in San Gregorio - a venue that I am stunned by every time I visit. There are several redwood groves, rustic cabins, and a quaint barn. By the time this wedding happened, I had done several weddings at this property and was always so thankful that I hadn't had to use a rain plan. Then enter this October wedding.
Up until a couple weeks before this day the weather was crystal clear and warm. As the date got closer it appeared that a storm may come in but not until after the wedding day. I started to strategize a rain plan since there are no indoor options for this venue and the trees make it difficult to just put up a big tent. The week of the wedding, the amazing vendor team was able to pull off a multiple tent, drapery and lighting set up in the pouring rain.
The day ended up being perfect, with little to no drizzle for their two ceremonies (one Persian and one American ceremony), and then poured all throughout dinner and the rest of the night while guests got cozy under the tented forest. Although it was a difficult day, everyone (even the vendors) left so grateful for the magic that was created!
